Biodiesel is a domestically produced, premium, renewable fuel that can be manufactured from vegetable oils, animal fats, or recycled restaurant grease. Biodiesel in its pure form (B-100) is safe, biodegradable and reduces serious air pollutants such as particulates, carbon monoxide, hydrocarbons, and air toxics.  Biodiesel can be blended in any ratio (e.g. B-20=20% biodiesel and 80% petroleum diesel) with petroleum diesel and offers superior performance in the areas of detergent characteristics, fuel lubricity and higher cetane rating.

IDLE REDUCTION

"Idle reduction" typically refers to technologies and operational practices that reduce the amount of time trucks, buses and passenger vehicles idle their engines. Reducing idle time saves fuel, engine wear and money. In addition, it reduces emissions and noise and contributes to a healthier environment.

Smart Vehicles incorporate new technologies that allow greater efficiency (more miles per gallon) and can also run on non-petroleum fuels.  They include Alternative Fuel Vehicles (AFVs), which run on Ethanol, Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), Propane (LPG), Electricity, Hydrogen and fuel blends as well has Hybrid Electric Vehicles that combine an electric motor with the traditional internal combustion engine.

Smart Vehicles come in a variety of models such as electric bicycles, sedans, pickup trucks, sport utility vehicles, vans, shuttle buses, medium-duty vehicles (such as delivery trucks), heavy-duty buses and heavy-duty trucks.
